Botulinum Toxin (Botox) For Treatment Of Smile Deformities (ie Gummy Smile)

Many people are not happy with the way they smile. Although it is globally described as “gummy smile.” This deformity can take many forms. Our article, titled “A Simplified Approach to Botulinum Toxin Injection for the Lower Face: Concept of a 24- Hour Clock” was published in our most prestigious plastic surgery journal (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery journal). In this article, we described how we treat lower face with botulinum toxin (Botox), essentially altering the way we smile. Depending on the smile deformity, Botox can be injected at varying points around the mouth to improve the way you smile. As with any treatment with botulinum toxin, the effects go away in about 3 months but can easily be retreated.
