Abdominoplasty
PROCEDURE DETAILS
Patient presented with localized redundant skin and fat involving the abdomen (tummy) and flanks. Patient also had separation of the abdominal muscles (diastasis recti). But her skin redundancy (extra skin) was not enough for a full tummy tuck. As such, patient underwent combined liposuction and mini-abdominoplasty (mini tummy tuck). Mini tummy tuck is a procedure in which a small incision is made and the loose skin is pulled down and closed (similar to a c-section scar). The incision allows us to tighten the muscle and remove the extra skin that would otherwise not go away on its own. The belly button is generally left in place. However, the belly button can also be moved to improve the appearance of the overall results. Ultrasound-assisted lipectomy was also performed to improve the contour of her upper abdomen and flanks.
