Breast Reconstruction
PROCEDURE DETAILS
Patient presented with unilateral breast cancer with plans for lumpectomy and post-op radiation. She desired for options to improve on symmetry of her breasts given the fact that she would be losing volume and contour of her breast on the cancer side. As such, she underwent immediate tissue rearrangement of the cancer side (after lumpectomy) and mastopexy (breast lift) on the contralateral side for symmetry. Note that she had significant breast ptosis (saggy breasts) prior to surgery. Through breast reconstruction and symmetry procedures on the other side, she was not only able to preserve symmetry of her breasts, but she was able to achieve an aesthetically pleasing result.
